Jack Cornhouse was born in London and he was always creative from a young age, developed a career as a hairdresser in London but always spent his spare time painting and drawing. In 2004, he sold his hairdressing salon and house in London and at the young age of 63, he bought a rucksack and travelled around the world. In 2005 he returned to London and completed a BTech Higher National Diploma in Fine Art at the Chelsea and Westminster College and a year later moved his life to Co.Cork. He now considers Co.Cork as home as he feels very settled in Ireland. He has since further developed his skills in art having completed a highly recognised course at the Royal Hibernian Academy in Dublin.
Jack has given presentations and demonstrations of his work and enjoys teaching and imparting his knowledge gained over the years. He now has his own studio in Co.Cork where he produces his works of art in watercolour, oil, pen, charcoal and pastels. Jack is living proof that it is “not the years that count, it’s what you do in them that matters.”
